Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

I don't think this is smart thinking

Flame me if you wish, but calling an amp a "45 SET" only tells me that the output tube is a 45. Nothing more.

My priority would be:
- a DHT input section. The input tube is just as important. 12AX7? 6SL7? I think not......
- the circuit. I'd want no coupling caps or cathode bypass caps, transformer coupled.

Both of the above are more important to the total sound. The concept that one 45 tube makes "a 45 amp" is a complete error to my way of thinking. Substitute anything like a 2a3 or a 300b and radically improve the input section and the circuit and you'll have a much better amp.
