RE: Baby Ongaku 2A3

Three things are wrong with it:

(1) AUDIO : SRPP front end, real picky DIYers will tell you that a single PLATE driven triode will sound better !!! Not everyone is "hep" to that POV.

(2) AUDIO : There is a .47 uF series coupling cap feeding the grid of the 2A3. That cap needs to be removed and the unit should be a "Loftin White" type, direct coupled two stage amp.

(3) SUPPLY : ( Which is audio in any amp, especially a SE 2A3 amp )

A 24 Hy 75 mA.choke ruins the dynamic response of the 2A3, due to high series resistances.

The supply should use not one, but TWO chokes in series, under 20 Ohms each.

Edcor makes a 1.5 HY at SEVENTEEN Ohms inductor, do it L1/C1/L2/C2 and you can use 50 uF WIMA or VISHAY DC-LINK film caps for the C's.
