I'm building an 4101D (101D) DHT amp which need 4,5V/1A nominal, but I can get only 4,15V without changing the trafo.(Schottky bridge and LL1694 choke) Will it shorten tube life or deteriorate the sound quality?
In the early days of radio the volume was regulated by a filament rheostat, so may be it is ok? Any opinions on this are appreciated.
Johnny
