Maybe 1.2KOhm, rather than 1k.

But yes, you could try.

I don't expect much higher power operating points to work.These are rather low efficiency speakers.

I used 400V/80mA/3K in the diyhifisupply Lux 91, together with a choke loaded cathode follower. That started as a custom build for someone with AN-E's...
