Another vote for two already mentioned -- the Takatsuki and the EML Mesh. I have never heard engraved, earlier WE's but I find these two tubes on par or better than the reissue WE's.
The EML Mesh is a real pleasant surprise. If your design calls for low plate dissipation they are well worth a try and somewhat reasonable in cost. I've got about 40 hours on a new pair and find them better than the Takatsuki's in many ways. They have none of the "metallic" sound of the EML XLS' that I previously owned, just nicely extended and natural with plenty of the midrange presence we crave.
