Hi Andre, I've seen some low cost SE kits with 1 volume control that are stereo amps. I built a passive preamp 12 years ago and I needed 2 volume controls because I left out the balance control. With a stereo amp with 1 volume control,I think the room would have to be like some chamber,perfectly sized with your speakers in precise measured spots and you couldn't have much for furniture for just 1 volume control. I bet you could take it out of the circuit very easily. My room looks like a battle ground si I need 2 volume controls and my ears to balance the sound...heres mine...Mark K
