Hi,
I have tried the Shuguang 2a3B and 2a3C in a SE bi-amp setup where the amp did not see signal below 100 Hz. I rate the cheaper 2a3B quite a lot higher than the 2a3C which is supposedly a modified 300B tube. The 2a3B has a surprisingly clear and fresh sound and a bit of delicacy as well. The sounstage and imaging is terrific.
The 2a3C is a bit thicker sounding and has a brownish tone that I don't care for. I don't doubt that some will enjoy the denser sound. Perhaps if it was loaded or biased differently it might show some magic, who knows...
If you like the 2a3 sound and you are on a budget, I would go for the Shuguang B. If you have some cash to burn buy JJ 2a3-40. Expect some burn in time, though.
Kris
