Thank you for the reference to this article--this will also require some careful study. Perhaps it isn't DC as you suggest. Our house is quite small--about 400 square feet--and there are really only two circuits available, apart from those dedicated to range, dryer, and refrigerator. The buzz, while varying in strength, never completely ceases, so it isn't coincident with the use of some device or lamp (unless it be the refrigerator). For the three hours at my friend's house--sweet relief, dead quiet.
