Hey, thats a great question!!

Ideally, the amps (and speaker cables) in a multi amped speaker should all match, so as to have the same time constant and sound. Its seldom done properly, but some people do know to do this, Xavier Cortes reported last week he uses six 300B amps, each the same, on his triamped horns.

That is the right way.
