I'd like to build a DC coupled 2A3 amp (two stages, 12AT7 + 2A3) with tube rectified separated power supplies. One with a 6X4 (or 6V4) for the input tube and a GZ34 (I know it's huge here..) for the 2A3. In order to let DC tension on output tube grid stabilize the GZ34 would be powered about one minute later than the 6X4. I think this should work.
My only concern is: what would happen if the 6X4 power supply should fail? I'd really not like to destroy my EML tubes and/or, even worst, my old Altec 605A duplex.
What do you think? Thank you.
