Easy SET: just disconnect the input to one KT88: this will damage nothing unless your KT88's are DC coupled.

all the tubes will still be working, and you need the disconnected KT88 to still be working in order to balance the idle current in the opposite Kt88.

however if you cannot confirm via the schematic that your Kt88's are not DC coupled: i.e. no capacitor or transformer between the previous stage and the Kt88's (this is rare, almost all kt88 amps are capacitor coupled) then the poster below is right, and it is not worth the chance.

So, the other option is to build your own SET.
