but no one has yet said if the KT88s will produce the SET magic.

I do appreciate the technical suggestions however, and although I am not the technical one when it comes to building tube amps, I can confirm that the main transformers which are also Sowters, are capable of providing much more than the current that would be needed.
Also the power supply caps are GE motor run oil caps.

Anyway keep the suggestion coming, in a few days I will send him this thread to see what he thinks, maybe he will chime in.
