I have two of each of the following: CD Player, Phono Preamp, and Preamp. I also have amps based on the following tube types: 45, 300B, EL84/6BQ5, and 10/10y/vt25/801/801A. Don is currently in the process of building a switchable amp that will use 300B/300BXL/842VHD tubes. They all sound great and I listen to different ones based on my mood. My next amp will probably be based on the 807 tube.

I realize that this is a little much. I originally owned a Conrad Johnson Art II which I replaced with Don's preamp. His preamp simply was better to my ears. The Art II sale almost paid for all the amps. I also has an Esoteric 50S. Since I preferred the sound of Don's CD player I also sold it and it paid for the other equipment.
