The great thing about this is that your brother built this amp, so he can likely tell you what's in it. Pay special attention to the available current on the primary of the power transformer. If you have a power transformer with a 5v winding for rectifiers, you can go to solid state rectifiers and do parallel 300B's. Then again, if you really love this amp, you may as well start over and have two amps that you love, not risking ruining a good one!
