SET Asylum

Thinking of converting PP KT88 monos to SET...

I have had this nice pair of DIY PP Kt88 mono blocs, built by my brother for some time now. Lately I have been wanting to go SET, but since I could never part with these, I have been very hesitant to just put them aside and get another pair of amps.

So, I am thinking of having him convert these to parallel SET.
He says it would be fairly simple, I would just need new output transformers. I am thinking Sowter or Hammond.

My question to you guys however, is not about the technical part of doing this, but about the end result of really achieving the SET magic.
How does parallel KT88s rank compared to 300Bs and others?
Will the end result be worth the effort.

If so, any suggestion on output tranies?
