thanks for the reply ! Sorry I am late getting back to this thread. That sounds like a pretty interesting setup to say the least. I am impressed with the design details - some cool thoughts there. I had not heard good things about CF designs so haven't tried them myself, but good to know they work out well in your instance! Maybe worth another look on my part...

I like the non-traditional tube choices and such too - very cool. Someday if we ever get together in person (? who knows?) I'll fire up some of the vintage 845s for sure. They are quite sublime. The more recent ones are not bad (SuperTNT stuff), esp. for the price, but there's always something about the vintage ones that is hard to describe and impossible to replicate I think.
