My understanding is that Sovtek 2A3s and 6B4s have a plate structure that can take many more watts than typical 2A3s. Their voltage rating is higher (450 max), as Sovtek claimed on the datasheet (try a google). They did print the typical 2A3 dissipation limit of 15W, however.

FWIW, Jack Elliano first explained this to me and said he operates 2A3s like 300B with no issues.

At the end of the day, I still run my Sovteks at 16W.
