Interesting thought. If you had a CCS for each tube (not shared by a pair) then in theory that should force the tubes to work equally hard since the CCS would always make the currents equal, within the tolerances of the CCS. Of course, the other problem is getting a CCS that doesn't add its own coloration. :-)
