Also remember reading the opinions of both and how if one tube start to get weak the other had to make up for it and problems developed from there.
I have an opportunity to buy a relatively unknown PSET amplifier locally and aside from the cost of 4 300b's, the warnings of some of the experts here scare me off.
The amp is a relatively unknown amp (JJ322) and seems to have somewhat outdated selected tubes in the various stages, 6922,12ax7,and EM84 (I don't know what this tube does in it). Having said that the claimed specs are not bad for a 300 amp with .3% distortion at 10W and 15hz - 35khz -1% @10w(I believe max power is 18 watts).
I also read of someone just using one tube per channel with not much difference and being able to save money regarding running a second set of 300b's. I thought that was odd that it could be done. Someone else who owned these amps thought they were a little slow but then again they are now running P/P.
