How useful a solution is a parallel SE amp?

I've been scratching my head considerably about how to drive Apogee Caliper Sigs with a DHT amp. All the logic points to parallel push pull, since I'm not building with high voltages and that rules out 845s and the like.

Before I say goodbye to SETs for this application, I'd like to go through an analysis of what I'd get with parallel SE. So this is really asking for a general discussion of how to implement PSE, and how practical it is.

It seems from the start that the odds are against you - reckon 160mA for two 300b and something like a 2k OPT. Using Lundahl LL1627 as an example you then only get 12H primary inductance for 140mA and 9H for 185mA. In fact, the LL1627 doesn't even offer a wiring scheme for 2k into 4 ohms.

So is PSE feasible as a solution for higher power?
