When Don built my 45 monoblocks I used a wood base that is almost identical to the one you included in the picture in your other post. I did included the lightning bolt since I felt it added to the looks especially at night when the lights behind it stand out. If I can get a picture I will post it. The point is that Don is flexible. I simply had the base made at a local shop and he did the rest.To me the music is the most important thing. To that point Don's amps are hard to beat. Yesterday I went to a local retail outlet and listened to a Krell system that cost about $60,000. While it is SS it could not compare to any of the systems I have purchased from Don. I have also listen to the Yamamoto 45 and prefer Don's amp.
It should also be pointed out that, while I used a wood base, the metal base that Don normally uses is better since the metal sides provide better shielding and lowers the noise level. While it is less of a problem in a 45 amp it can be a major concern it other amps. In my next amp I plan to use metal with a wood base around it.
Finally if you prefer a different style that is fine. There is no need, however, to be derogatory. Simply say you don't like the looks.
