I recently purchased an 845 based Monaco SET amp from Larry Moore (UltraFi Times) and couldn't be happier. It was going to be used in my second listening room but it has ended up replacing my Jadis DA88S push pull amp which is no easy feat. As this is my first SET I was relunctant to purchase one as I've read all the posts about compromising deep and authorative bass from an SET. This isn't the case at all with the Monaco as it goes deeper than the Jadis which has always been very acceptable in bass performance. The Monaco also extends the high frequency range compared to the Jadis.

The real testimonial for me is that it just seems to make all music played through it more enjoyable by seemingly placing you at the recording venue with the artists. As I only own a digital source, it's rewarding to be able to listen to CDs that I'd given up for dead due to their recording quality.

As I'm new to SETs, I was wondering if this is a common experience with SETs or has Larry done it again via a brilliant design & attention to the quality of the parts used?

Regards,
Brian ...
