My Don Allen 45 had a single filament transformer with two windings off if it. I could have ordered two seperate filament TXs but I opted for once piece with two windings. The need for a seperate FT could have been avoided had the power TX been designed specifically for the amp. Not a big deal, just an observation. My VT-52 also used filament TXs because I used a stock power TX for from Angela. This was the amp:
This was my Don Allen amp:
Both were good. Overall I liked the VT-52 better but it was my vision so I was partial to it I admit! ECC40 input/drivers, VT-52 output tubes, AZ1 mesh rectifiers and other goodies. bob danielak helped out with the circuit.
