I feel its a bit unfair to say the PSU seemed wimpy. Yes having owned a Don stereo 45 int amp I know the power transformer well. When I first started talking with Don he told me how the power transformer for a 45 amp need not be all that large. He also mentioned how it does run rather warm. It was never, cook eggs hot however. Dons reasoning for all this is he is a BIG believer in EMI/RF interference and his internal/external layout/part choice plays a huge part in his design. Also for the record, aside form the 3 exposed transformers on my amp (ps 2 opt) inside there were 3 more, I believe 2 filament xfmrs and a choke. Don does not skimp on design and parts. There is a reason for it all.

Im not trying to jump on your statement. Just trying to explain. After all, you did say it sounded great right?
