You outlined what you plan to do, so go for it if that's what you want.
Personally, I think you are going about it wrong. If you MUST go down the SET path, do it right, instead of taking baby steps. Ditch the Theils, and get some high eff speakers (100db) before you do anything. Find some, and see what they are about, see what you can live with. Audition as many as you can. THEN audition amps.
