Single drivers can be amazing for small acoustic combos, whether folk, jazz, string quartets or chamber music.

For big groups and greater dynamic potential one needs very high efficiency and that lead to multiway horns for me. I've heard systems that can do a great job of BIG orchestras with as little as 45 amps (1.6W).

YMMV, but I have yet to find a one size fits all speaker, and especially when you're using low power SET amplification.
