I have a decware zen or whatever it's called. The little thing was one of my first SET amps. What I remember about it, and it's sitting on a shelf only about 10 feet from me now, but I'm too lazy to take it out and hook it up, is that it is a very fast amp.The faster the amp, the better it picks up the rhythm in the music.
I had a compilation cd, with one or two really rhythmic songs and I would play them over and over with my Zen amp. I think one of them was a Boy George song.
I think when you really move on the SETS though, you think about the 2a3, 300b, 45, etc.. I guess the Zen though could really beat out many of them that are not well-designed, that have some imperfections, or dc and stuff like that.
But there is something to be said for the big, balloon shaped SE output tubes.
