Found the problem - What do you think Paul?

I found the problem with my amp. Schematic says use a .8 Ohm resistor in the 300B filament supply circuit CRC filter. It was shipped with .5 Ohm resistors. Bingo.

I measured the voltages before and after the resistor and got the current draw about 1.6A assuming the .5 Ohm 12W mills is really 1%.

Voltage @ before resistor = 6.83
Voltage after resistor / at tube = 6.01
resistor = .5 Ohm
Current = 1.64A

Other channel is very similar.

Based on 1.64A draw and 6.81V before the resistor, I need to to get a 1.2 Ohm resistor for each channel. I'm going to get 2.0, 2.2, and 2.5 resistors and parallel them to get as close to 4.95V or so as I can.

The other thing that concerns me is that the tube is 1.2A filament current rated, I'm pulling 1.64A. Am I looking at this right?

Randy
