I suggest that you measure the heater voltage on the 300B in your Cary amps. Something is causing them to die prematurely, and that could be the cause. The 300B should have 5 volts or slightly less across its cathode.
I have a pair of Cary 40M monoblocks (push-pull EL34's) that used to eat output tubes. It turns out the heater voltage was way too high---around 7.4 instead of 6.3. After some resistors were added to drop the voltage down to 6.1 or so, the output tubes have lasted a long time. I have no idea why the voltage was high to begin with, but it was.
I recently built a pair of 300B SE monoblocks and I am using EH gold grid tubes. Two weeks now and no problems!
