I built one of these for my office. I followed most of the schematic from Sound Practices. I switched out the 1626 cathode cap to a Solen (only 47uF I think) and the power supply is a choke input loaded 5Z3. I used a pair of Hammond 125ESE output transformers. They work nice in this amp, maybe due to the low current. I never realy spent much time with this one at home, but I love the sound of it. The imaging is great. It's surprising how loud it gets. I have a pair of Insignia 6 1/2" speakers (Best Buy) in my office. There is nothing efficient about those and I can't turn it up without the neighbors complaining. Everyone is amazed that it's only 750mW. I don't think you can buy one of these amps, but it's a very easy project. Check out the Tube DIY asylum for more info. Just get a large chasis, punch some holes, and start soldering.
Have fun,
Dan
