My recent experience to 2A3 tubes is limited to having them used in a
Yamamoto A-08S amplifier, which was otherwised optimised for type 45 tubes (amp uses an OPT of 5 Kohm primary winding).
I changed quite a few type 45 tubes and ended with (fairly)new production of Shuguang 2A3C tubes as output tubes, instead. These are monoplate tubes, are very inexpesive and seem to be very well made.
In this particular amp they sound to me better than any 45 tube, including globe Cunninghams and EML (solid plate)45 tubes (which come to my taste as second).
You can get a matched pair of the Shuguang 2A3C from Hong Kong vendors at something like 60 to 70 USD, and I think it would be very worthwhile to try them out.
