My experience is limited to EML 45s (one died within the first year under warranty, the other slightly outside the arranty) whose sound I much prefer to the Cunninghams. But reliability does seem to be an issue as is on record elsewhere. With 2A3s, I got into the JJ 2A3-40 whose sound in the Fi monos I really like - but it's too early yet to tell about long-term stability. However, I did a bit of online research before I went JJ and folks who've owned JJ 300Bs reported excellent reliablity in either their commercial or DIY amps and the 2A3 is very similar in structure to a 300B. It's not as specific an answer as you were looking for but it might help a bit. The JJs crushed the Sovteks in the Fis. In the Melody I2A3, not to the same extent as the Melody seems to have been very cannily voiced around the Sovteks.

But the JJ 2A3-40 looksd like a contender. Another chap who recently wrote it just put them in his DIY amp and loves their sonics right out of the gate. Again, we don't yet know long-term reliability.
