The 2A3 tube design is a fine one with very good intrinsic linearity.
Lots of amps/circuits out there which are quite compromised/non-optimal
however --and questionable makers of 2A3s too. Sorry I'm not familiar
with the particularities of your amp. If you have a schematic to send,
and a picture of your output transformer, then I might be able to help.

Again, try to suspend judgement about type 2A3 untill you get to the
bottom of the issue, and do some tests/comparisons.
