Terry deWick (Mcintosh ) when restoring vintage pieces is using combination of Craig DeOxit and CaliLube sprays .If I remember correctly He sprays the pot with DeOxit first ,turn a few times ,spray again and than use a final CaliLube spray. It's a proven method and you can use deOxit on tube sockets too.Regards, L
