Degeneration, not feedback.

Triodes have degeneration, not feedback.

Yes there is a difference.

Feedback involves feeding back some of the output signal to the input, which means that the signal presented to the input is different from the open loop case.

Degeneration means that the output affects the field within the triode in such a way that the output is different from the "open loop" case with the same input.

Different mechanisms mean that they have different results.

The model of a triode as a pentode with nfb is fundamentally flawed, it would be better to model the pentode as a triode with positive feedback (the screen).

If you want to start an argument, tell them that 300Bs are semiconductor devices. At least that's true.
