Konnichiwa,I occasionally look around on japanese websites and I noticed this little Amp:
Looks good, seems nicely made and it is available in both Kit Form (138,000 Yen around $ 1,300) and as Finished Product (198,000 Yen around $ 1,800) and even finished as limited edition with Globe 45's and Globe 80 Rectifier (340,000 Yen around $ 3,100)....
The DIY and "Want to DIY but scared of getting a nice result" Crowd might also get some nice ideas out of how this Amplifier is actually made...
The circuit is pretty basic, 717A pentode with Zenner stabilised Screengrid Voltage drives classic cathode biased (1k5 & 130uF) 45, Sprague (Dearborne) coupling Capacitors, ASC main PSU Cap (Polyprop) and decent Electrolytics on the Cathodes, AC heating on the 45's. All that on one nicely finished wooden plate. I love the zen simplicity. I wonder what it would sound like.I just might make a similar Amp using some 24's, an 80 and some 45's from my stash....
