Termination peak bandwidth

I am currently employing a 24ms ISD gap with a -8db termination peak. I have an embedded specular reflection accounting for most of that peak with diffused energy at about a -18db level.

ETC curve, Right channel 450hz - 5.6k (unsmoothed)

ETC 200us smoothed response

Black = 500hz
Orange = 1k
Green = 2.1k
Purple = 4.2k

-------------------

My question is, does the termination peak need to be broadband? Is a termination peak containing only higher FR returns like mine above still adequate for subsequent masking of later returns?

Thoughts?
