What kind of room treatment are you going to introduce? We don't have the same range of treatment options available in Australia as they do in the US but Melbourne seems to be better served with distributors of American treatments than either Sydney or Brisbane where I am.
Since you're in Melbourne I'll mention that one of the pro music firms down there, Awave, are the Australian distributors of Ethans RealTraps. I've recently replaced the DIY treatments I had in my room for several years with 8 of Ethan's Mondo Traps and I'm extremely pleased and impressed with the results. The Australian prices are significantly higher than the US prices because of transport costs but I think they the RealTraps are definitely worth the cost. I'm currently waiting on delivery of another trap, hopefully on Monday, to deal with an asymmetrical first reflection which should hopefully give me a centred centre image in my system instead of one that pulls slightly to the left as yours does.
I should add that I'm not associated with Ethan or his firm. I'm a retired audiophile with no professional associations at all but I'm extremely happy with Ethan's RealTraps. I'm less happy with Awave as people to deal with from a distance but I suspect you may be able to do better with them in person. They're just incredibly slow to deal with when you have to conduct business by phone and e-mail.
