One more thing I just thought of for you to consider in building your new room. I have a large tube amp that puts out a lot of heat and my room only has one air vent in the ceiling. In the winter all is cozy and warm, but in the South Texas summer, one must get accustomed to combining listening sessions with sauna sessions.

Not only is the single air vent inadequate for cooling my room, it is also positioned close to a first reflection point on the ceiling thereby preventing me from using an absorption panel as wide as I would like. So, make sure you have enough cooling capacity to combat your system heat output and try to place the vents where they won't interfere with absorption panel placement.
