Ethan said he preferred absorption at the first reflection points and so do I, but that doesn't mean that it may not be beneficial elsewhere on the ceiling or in the room. Placed centrally on the back wall where it would deflect what would otherwise be first reflections away from the listener and back to the side walls might be one beneficial use for the screen. You would need to experiment.
You might get some ideas on placement from the section on polycylindrical reflectors in Everest's 'Master Handbook of Acoustics'. Everest recommends using absorption behind polycylindrical reflector panels so I would expect you may get some benefit from that as well.
As for hanging it if you used it on the ceiling, I think you would need secure fastenings into the ceiling joists. I've got no experience in that sort of thing so I can't offer any hard advice.
