I am planning on building a new room from scratch. I want to somehow incorporate the acoustical treatments into the room decor, so they don't stand out.
I had laid out the room per the speaker manufacturers recommendation and determined where the first reflection points would be. I had intended to build some treatment into the walls at the first reflection point.
Yesterday, I had a thought. What happens if I decide to change speakers? What if the speakers (existing or new) sound better at a different location (say 3 ft from the front wall rather than 6 ft)? What if I decided to sit 5 feet away from the backwall rather than 8 feet? All these scenarios will change where the first reflection points are? So wouldn't it be better that the treatment for wall reflection point be movable? So rather than build them into the wall, maybe hang them on a track so you can move it back and forth along the side wall?
