Blinds, that is, anything with the louvered configuration that can be controlled are possibly useful as diffusors. The "Master Handbook of Acoustics" details and at least one manufacturer uses the louvered door/blind shape for this acoustical control purpose.

The blinds can be made of anything. There are metal, plastic, fabric, doubled and possibly padded fabric, and even plastic made to replace wood types. Each will have its own acoustical properties, both in terms of absorption/reflection and in terms of general diffusion.

Don't be so sure that you need only absorption, as diffusion of reflections from a major first reflection point, such as your wall of glass, can also work wonders.

In my room with a wall of glass I use vertical fabric/plastic blinds. These help a bit for diffusion, depending upon how they are opened. In an audiophile friend's room, he uses woven cloth drapes that let in light (but not view) and puts vinyl stickers at key points on the panes to damp ringing too.

The latter are cheap children's stickers, available at any toy or novelty store, and you can read up in Tweaks archives about how/where to place these for effect. Easy to do without ruining your view or your windows in your situation as a start.

Also, room lens diffusors or vertical panel absorbers might be an esthetically acceptable solution in your situation that wouldn't block the entire view.

So consider your options more fully.
