I am in the middle of building out my second Rives room. The first had an area between the speakers that was "sort of" curved but not in toward the room. The base wall was flat but there was an area behind it in the center of the room that was sort of concave and filled with fiberglass. That room served as both a 2 channel room adn home theater. I can tell you that it was the very best room I have ever hear. Can't describe in words
In my under construction rives room (which also serves dual purpose) there is no such area between the speakers. Like Richard said, his room designs are "systems" where each component of the design interacts with other components to provide the ideal solution. In fact, there is very little commonality in my new room versus my old (except diffusion on the back wall)
I have heard one other rives room and in it there was not special between the speaker section.
