Hi there ethan-- thanks so much for responding. Tell me-- just what sort of product would you suggest for that broad band absorption?

And please tell me why all that absorption right behind my head wont suck all the life and ambience out of the room by killing 'good reflections' if there are such things??

Also-- short wall 38% and all that sounds great-- but my speakers would have to be on either side of that large doorway to the dining room. How do you keep people from tripping over the speaker cables running to the left speaker from your amp on the right side of the doorway? Rubber matts??? THAT's a great look on a hardwood floor, eh??

(BTW-- agree on cheaper cables vs. expensive-- but not always. WISH I could find cheaper cables that werent just good--- but REALLY good. I have listened to maybe 30 pairs in the last two years at many price points-- and unfortunately, my taste seems pricier-- and no, I dont think it's all an illusion).

thanks,
Hu
