I've been struggling with my system lately, mainly with hardness or brightness in the upper mids / treble. I suspect it's an aversion to most digital (still demo'ing players). But, maybe it's the room. I have it tuned based on prior research but I was wondering if I could get some input -- maybe certain things are wrong?
Here's a synopsis:
13' wide, 15' long, 8' high. Sheetrock. Carpet over slab.
OC705 panels (2' wide, 4' high, 2" thick) on all first reflection points (side walls, front wall) rear wall also has three panels to absorb slap echo. I used mirrors and equations to get the reflection points on the side walls and front wall behind the speakers.
The speakers are 6' apart, 3' from the front wall and 3.5' from each side wall. The equipment rack is as far back behind the plane of the speakers as I can get it (maybe a foot or more).
Thoughts? I can't touch the ceiling and probably not the corners.
First picture is the front wall, of course
