Hi,
I am about to do my first set of measurements with RplusD. I just wanted to know if I am heading in the right direction..
Here's my plan:
I intend to analyze 3 things - Freq Response, ETC and RT60.
I am using a full range driver for the measurements.
First, I am going to mark off 20 positions (or how many needed to give a realistic response of the room) where I will place the microphone. I will run the hyrbrid signal and obtain the impulse response for these points in order to get the freq response and the ETC. For the freq response, I will use a large gate time and take the average of the curves, in order to analyze the low freq region and obtain the modes.
For the RT60, I will go back to these same mic positions and run the sweep signal. I was reading about the 2 measurement technique, but what exactly should I do differently in these 2 measurements, I assume maybe change the input gain?
Also, with respect to the loudspeaker in the room, can I simply leave this in front of the room to output the test signals? When I go further back into the room with the microphone, do I have to change the gain settings, so it remains similar to the other measurements closer to the loudspeaker?
Thanks very much.
