...an acoustical design engineer in SF recommended by a commercial architectural firm I was working with to design my company site/office.

He consulted on the design and material cost/benefit trade-offs which were extremely valuable.

For example:
Room dimensions
Floor material
Wall construction
Ceiling
Wall materials
Windows
Doors

There are a lot of things you can do and no end to the money you can spend. There's WAF to consider and the effect on resale value.

The consult cost me a about $300 16 years ago.

Then it took me about a year and half to do the acoustic treatments to get it to sound like it thought it should.
