Every installation? I don't know about that, but it is the most cost effective component (note the word component--it's not an end all do all item) for sound isolation. When sound isolation is important I would say that Green Glue is spec'd in our designs almost all the time. For tile you use "Blue Glue". We have not had an installation yet that used Blue Glue, but given our results with Green Glue, I would likely use it.
