Thank you for the detailed suggestions. I do have the speakers positioned so as to listen down the length of the room. They are presently about 4 1/2' out from the front (short) wall and about 3 1/2' in from the side walls. My rooms don't exatly have "corners," since the walls are 2' thick of concrete/rammed earth, and there are these kind of curved support structures in what would be corners. At the opposite end of the length of the room are an adobe kiva fireplace in one corner and a closet in the other. When I did bass measurements in the speakers' present positions, I found there to be an almost perfect rolloff in response: flat as a ruler down to 60hz, down about 2db at 50hz, down by about 4 at 40, down by 6 at 31, and down by 16db at 20 hz. I'll try your suggestions. Thanks.
