I have a modest HT system in my asymmetric living room. I have found the best way to deal with the asymmetry is to use small speakers. I think the biggest issue you will have is that the bass balance will be different between your front speakers. That can be alleviated somewhat by crossing over to your sub at a relatively high frequency. Of course, that depends on a good match between your sub and your mains.
